Las Vegas 2012

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that participated in this years reunion down in sunny Las Vegas.  We had a lot of fun playing at Lake Mead.  Thanks to Cory and Dad for providing the boats.  Joshua's baptism was very nice and very well attended.  Congratulations Joshua, we are very proud of you!  Thanks to everyone who prepared meals and to Becky and Cory for letting us stay in your homes and play in your pools.  A special thanks to Becky for planning this years reunion.  Next year Becky and I will be planning it and it may be too early, but if you guys have thoughts about where you might want to get together next year let us know in the comments.

We were so busy swimming and playing in the water that we didn't take a single picture during the reunion!  If you guys have pictures please post them, or send them to me so I can post them.  Thanks again to everyone!

  1. Holly and my votes go for another Las Vegas year! We have a house large enough we could stack everyone here. No need to plan any outings so we can conserve money, but we'd have the pool, which is always a nice way to cool off.

I don't believe we ever fully discussed doing the reunion every other year. I think that may provide a little reprieve for some families that need to travel and take time off work to participate. Even numbered years maybe?

Holly and I both believe the reunion should not be an expensive venture as most people's budgets are tight. After all, isn't the purpose to be together, not necessarily to do 'new and exciting things' in new places? Probably the most memorable times will be formed in casual conversation and just time spent together.

Should things be centered around a holiday, or are people committed to personal family activities? Are people willing to travel just to 'hang out'? Advanced planning will be important for those who have to plan well in advance for time off work as well as those who may need to travel great distances (Jason).

I don't know that I have any great ideas. Travel is expensive as are many activities. Good luck with the planning!
