- We want to continue to have the reunion annually. We realize there may be some years that not all families can attend, but hopefully it will be a priority to be there.
- We will have the auction every year. Families should plan accordingly to both contribute as well as budget for purchases. It was given as a suggestion that each family plan to contribute $100 worth of items, and plan to spend that much at the auction.
- Rotating responsibility for planning the reunion will continue, as the variety of planning and activities is appreciated.
- We talked about doing "big" reunion in a few years. Ideas included a cruise, a week at Pinecrest, etc.
- Mom and Dad enjoy the reunions and would like to see them continue. Indeed, all of us in attendance enjoyed the reunion this year and share the same sentiments.
What are your thoughts?
I think the reunion was a lot of fun. When you have that many babies and toddlers running around it is a lot of work, but it was good company and a nice place to get away from everything else.
ReplyDeleteWe are planning on setting aside a little bit of money each month so that we can have our $100 to spend on the auction next year. I think/hope that just knowing that we will have an auction each year will help people be better prepared with items to auction off.
This year we raised $314 from the auction and we have $252 already in the reunion fund so, Jason and Becky, that is what you will have to work with.
Thanks to everyone that came and helped out for this years reunion. We missed those of you that couldn't make it this year.
I have fond memories of this year's reunion, and I am already looking forward to next year. I missed those who couldn't attend this year. I think everyone did remarkably well with all the little ones, keeping them happy and also keeping track of them all. Thanks for all the hard work. I know it isn't easy to manage the little ones in a camping situation without all the conveniences of home, while the kids are wondering what's going on. But I think close family ties will help to guide these young ones through their youth, and I'm happy to see friendships develop among the cousins. As the kids get older, we will probably have to have a few more organized activities, but that remains to be seen.
ReplyDeleteDad and I are thankful for everyone in the family and appreciate the cooperation that we see. When I hear other people talk about strained relationships in their family, I am so thankful that none of that seems to be present. When you have so many different personalities together, it is commendable that everyone is accepting and helpful to other family members.
We love you all and enjoy seeing the growth in everyone from year to year. I am glad that we have started this tradition, and I'm happy that you voted to do this annually.
